Introduction to Darkroom Practice

Working with an experienced photographer and darkroom tutor at the Gate Darkroom in Greenwich, participants will be introduced to film processing and basic black and white printing. Students will be asked to bring a black and white film for processing and from this a basic print will be made. The workshop will cover preparing the enlarger paper types, selecting multigrade filters, agitation and water-flow, print-drying. Students will be able to process their own films and make basic reference prints confidently by the end of the session.
