International Urban Photography Summer School

We are pleased to announce the relaunch of the International Urban Photography Summer School (iUPSS), organised by UrbanAnalogue and previously held at Goldsmiths College for a decade. This intensive summer school is now based in the heart of the London’s vibrant East End district at Four Corners Film and Photography Centre.

Summer School dates:
17-28 August 2026

The summer school includes practice workshops, lectures, photowalks and tutorials. Participants will produce three small visual exercises focusing on place, people and material cultures. After discussion with their personal tutor, participants will work on a more in-depth visual project examining an aspect of London’s urban life and materiality. These projects will form the basis of an individual portfolio and a pop-up exhibition at Four Corners as part of the Whitechapel Gallery’s Backyard Biennial.

This is a focused and immersive learning experience, and will be of particular interest to artists, photographers, filmmakers, sociologists, anthropologists, historians, geographers, architectural researchers, archivists and those seeking a deeper understanding of, and engagement with the visual cultures of contemporary and historical urban spaces.

Fee: £1450 with a 10% discount for students, UrbanAnalogue, IVSA, Four Corners members, and those receiving benefits.
